NEXT STOP… DOHA!

I thought I'd write a quick blog post to fill in everyone about what has been going in our lives lately and why I've been MIA on here.
If you follow along on Instagram, you may have seen that we are in the midst of a huge family move from Perth, Australia to Doha in the Middle East. This is something that we've been speaking about for a long time and my husband has been actively seeking work over there for a while. This all came about when Jack was born and we both felt the need to be closer to our family in Scotland (we weren't ready to move back there though!). We finally got confirmation of a new position in Doha around 4 weeks ago and since then things have been CRAZY.
We have sent all our furniture, packed up our lives, sold and moved out of our house and we fly TOMORROW. Moving is stressful at the best of times but with an 8 month old, 2 cats, a husband who is still working full time and no family to help, it has been hectic to say the least! It's also been slightly bitter sweet as we've been saying goodbye to all of our friends here and realising that we will really miss Australia, especially since we have been here for nearly 6 years and are actually Aussie citizens.
To add to all of the stress, there has been a lot of concerning news out of Qatar and I have been receiving heaps of messages from people asking if we are still actually going. Luckily the employer Ricky is moving to is a large American company and they have ensured us that if the move becomes unsafe they will notify us straight away.
Even despite all of the above we are SUPER excited for a new adventure! We've been googling Qatar every night in bed and looking at all the amazing places we will be able to take Jack. I've also been speaking to a couple of girls living in Doha and they love life with little ones there! Connecting with these people has made the idea of moving so much easier for us and I can't thank them enough.
It doesn't stop there though… a few weeks after arriving in Qatar, Jack and I will jet back to Scotland for around 5 weeks to be with family and to escape the intense summer heat. Ricky will meet us there for the last 10 days of our stay. This is actually stressing me out more than the move now as I'll miss Ricky lots and I'm dreading flying with Jack alone (any tips people???).
So yeah… life has been a little chaotic and emotional but I promise I'll be back on here soon :)! Will check in again soon.. from Qatar! Aaaah, so weird!
